General information

The library collection consists of about 40 000 volumes, this includes several special sections covering such subjects as policing, criminal justice, forensic science, disaster psychology and human rights.

The library subscribes to about 150 periodicals, mostly Swedish, Nordic and international police periodicals. Apart from its own databases, the library has access to a growing number of information sources on-line.

The main purpose of the library is to provide a service for students, teachers at the Police Academy and researchers at the National Council for Crime Prevention. Furthermore the library provide a service for police authorities throughout the country. Residents of the greater Stockholm area are, equipped with a suitable identification, entitled to borrow from the library. Others can request their local library to submit an interlibrary loan request to the Swedish National Police Academy Library.

Loaning periods

Books: 30 days.
Only students at the Police Academy are allowed to borrow course literature.
Periodicals: May not be borrowed.

Reservation

If a book is in circulation, we can reserve it on your behalf. We will hold the reservation for you for one week.
